Mid March 2019
The lads have finished the easy work back aft and are loath to bend deeply to lay mahogany aft at the sheer, so they’ve determined the nighttime pros need help up forward. You’ll note they start at the bow and screw in place towards the mid section. They claim it gives them greater control and leverage over the plank, and results in tighter fit.
Eric and Barry on one side and second team of Dutch, Rick and John on the other. Meanwhile night shift pro (and youngster) Ken now has to cover by working on strake adjoining the sheer! Captain Kelly is doing some light sanding before starting the same long board sanding regime as for cedar planking, but this time will progress down to 180 and 220 grit sandpaper.
