When I think of the Herreshoff brand, I don’t think about the product.  Rather, I think about what made the product possible.

To some, the Herreshoff Museum is a treasure trove of gorgeous wooden boats, both sail and power – and that’s a beautiful thing.  To me, however, the HMM collection is a shining example of design and engineering mastery combined with unmatched business process innovation, modern examples of which we see today in companies like Apple and Tesla.  The Herreshoff brothers and their talented employees were world class problem solvers.  This is what made the Herreshoff brand known around the world, and it’s what makes the Herreshoff Museum such an inspiration to the next generation.
