Endowments
The latest endowment gift to the Museum was given to help preserve and support the classic 12½ sailboat used for the youth and adult sailing programs.
Marjorie Freeman "Peggy" Dixon spent her early years summering at Poppasquash Point in Bristol devoting many happy hours to sailing her family's Herreshoff 12½ "FROLIC"In her honor and with love and admiration her family wishes to establish an endowment fund to preserve the boats of which she was so fond, to be known as the "Museum Fund for the preservation and maintenance of Herreshoff 12½ sailboats."
Income from the fund is to be permanently restricted to the physical preservation and maintenance, in "Bristol Fashion" of Herreshoff 12½'s operated in Bristol, Rhode Island by the Herreshoff Marine Museum.
This fund was created by her family to honor Marjorie Freeman "Peggy" Dixon.
