“Soul-Jazz performances with killer grooves and passion throughout.” Dan Moretti and the Hammond boys are alive and cookin’ with their deep Soul-Jazz performance on this welcome live CD release. Saxophonist Dan Moretti’s rich and diverse performing and recording career has spanned over 30 years traveling throughout the world. With 20 CD’s as a leader he has performed and recorded with many of the Legends of Soul and Jazz. In 2013 he did a world tour with legendary guitarist-producer Nile Rodgers in support of his 4 Grammys with Daft Punk. With his 17th new release “Dan Moretti and The Hammond Boys ” he has entered the live spirit of the vibrant Soul-Jazz era of the 60’s. JAZZ NOTES by Ken Franckling “New England-based tenor player Dan Moretti thrives at the intersection of jazz, blues and soul.” Sugar Ray Norcia is a Grammy Nominate Harmonica player, lyricist, and singer. Sugar Ray Norcia has been leading his band, the Blue Tones, around New England since the late 1970s. The band began to break nationally in the late '80s and early '90s with the release of their debut for the Rounder/Varrick label, Knockout. While leading his own band and touring on a regional basis around the New England states, Norcia spent many years in apprenticeship as a sideman. This fact is evident on his recordings, as Norcia's singing is deep and heartfelt, and his harmonica playing is that of a seasoned blues club veteran. Ray and Dan put a sensational show on together and join the Soul-Jazz and Blues world as one.
