The Herreshoff Museum and America’s Cup Hall of Fame proudly announce the 2025 America’s Cup Hall of Fame Challenge, taking place October 4 & 5, 2025, in Newport, Rhode Island. This prestigious regatta will feature four elite teams racing historic 12-Metre yachts—COLUMBIA (US-16), WEATHERLY (US-17), NEFERTITI (US-19), and AMERICAN EAGLE (US-21)—each with a rich legacy in America’s Cup history. Crews will rotate boats throughout the event, ensuring dynamic competition in one of the sport’s most iconic venues.
Each 10-person crew, supported by a boat captain and two professional sailors, will rotate boats throughout the competition, racing in the iconic waters north of the Pell Bridge. Adding to the excitement, every team will sail alongside a Hall of Fame inductee, offering a rare chance to compete with legendary sailors.
The $10,000 entry fee per team will help fund the Herreshoff STEM Education Program, providing scholarships for youth sailors and boatbuilders from disadvantaged communities.
The weekend will begin with a Friday evening reception at The Sailing Museum and conclude with a Sunday prizegiving ceremony at the 12-Metre Yacht Club (Clarke Cooke House Sky Bar). Winning team will be awarded the Reliance Cup, commemorating the spirit of excellence in America’s Cup history.
