Volunteer Infrastructure Intern

The Volunteer Infrastructure Intern acts as an assistant to the Volunteer Manager. Responsibilities may include volunteer tracking, recruitment, aiding in creating a volunteer newsletter, designing and distributing marketing materials and assisting with miscellaneous special projects. This position requires minimal physical exertion but may involve some walking, lifting, and time outside in all weather conditions. The ideal candidate would have effective project management skills, ability to multitask, excellent communication skills, initiative, drive, creative flair and flexibility and a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products and design software. The internship position would take place during the winter semester with a commitment of one or two days a week. The position is unpaid.

Accounting Intern

The Accounting Intern acts as an assistant to the Chief Financial Officer.  Responsibilities may include but are not limited to entering annual budget into Quickbooks, processing checks and accounts payable and various other day-to-day data entry. The Accounting Intern must be a Junior or Senior Accounting Major with knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping terminology and practices, automated accounting systems, spreadsheets and database software, general record keeping and filing systems. The position is unpaid and would begin immediately.

Graphic Design Intern

The Graphic Design Intern acts as an assistant to the Graphic Design and Marketing Associate.  Each intern will have one semester long project in addition to other smaller projects.  This intern will be responsible to design new marketing materials for our summer sailing school including a brochure and t-shirt.  Additional responsibilities may include but are not limited to editing images for use on web and print, drafting, distributing and designing events poster and banners, flyers and brochures to market various Museum programs, performing miscellaneous office duties and assisting with miscellaneous special projects. The ideal candidate will have effective project management skills, ability to multitask, excellent communication skills, initiative, drive, creative flair and flexibility, a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products and design software and an ability to work within the aesthetic of the Museum. The internship is unpaid and the intern should be able to commit to 20 hours a week.

Marketing Intern

The Marketing and Events Intern acts as an assistant to the Graphic Design and Marketing Associate.  Responsibilities may include but are not limited to organizing and compiling marketing spreadsheets, drafting, designing, editing and distributing events information and flyers, tracking the Museum’s social media, collecting information from Constant Contact, attending local business merchant association meetings and actively promote the Museum, maintaining the Museum’s blog, and collect information on outreach and growth through marketing platforms. The ideal candidate would have effective project management skills, ability to multitask, excellent communication skills, initiative, drive, creative flair and flexibility and a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products. The internship is unpaid and the intern should be able to commit to one or two days a week.
