From the Vault: Extra, Extra! Local Coverage of the 1899 America’s Cup

Read all about it! Four pages of parades and parties from the Bristol Phoenix archives

Usually this would be part of a "This Week in Herreshoff History" post. But there's so much coverage in the Bristol Phoenix this week 121 years ago that we thought it deserved its own "From the Vault" feature, facsimiles included. Scroll down to read firsthand how an America's Cup victory was celebrated in the small town of Bristol in 1899! The veneration even extends to J.B.H. and N.G.H.'s mother, Julia Ann Lewis, "the Mother of all Herreshoffs and of the American Racing Yacht."
