This is a Capt. Nat designed triple expansion, steeple engine from the 1890’s. Triple expansion, steeple engines were the ultimate Capt. Nat design and his most successful; smaller ones for launches and larger ones for yachts as torpedo boats.

And as often happens in Building 28, serendipity visits at the most opportune time. Don visited our shop and in casual conversation said that he restored MG engines and automobiles. We said “Sit down and restore this thing!” Here he is hard at work, and in one year had a beautiful restored engine!
