The Bristol Phoenix published a very long article describing JBH’s new steam yacht Eugenia including a description of interior and exterior, building of 20-raters for Harold Gould, “a German Baron from …Kiel”, and some Cup speculation. There is an additional article on visit from US Navy Secretary Herbert."
March 23, 1900:
Today marks Mrs. Julia A. Herreshoff's 89th birthday, 120 years ago. The Bristol Phoenix wrote a column wishing her a happy day. It notes that she is "naturally very proud of the achievements of her son, Nat". This issue of The Pheonix also highlights the news of a Herreshoff launching. Bristol Phoenix: Eastern Yacht Club orders six 70 ft. gasoline launches to be given to government for Coast Patrol service. HMCo. also submits bids for several gasoline launches.
