You will ensure all internal events at Herreshoff Marine Museum (HMM) are a success. Reporting to the Director of Finance and Operations, you will be an integral part of executing events. You will be responsible for planning, organizing, managing, assigning, attending, and executing all internal HMM events. You are the on-site contact to help ensure all parties have what they need to execute their respective roles for the event. The role is a part time position with an average of 10-20 hours per week (may fluctuate between May – December). Weekend availability is necessary. Previous experience with event coordination and execution is strongly preferred.

  • Plan, organize, manage, assign, attend, and execute all internal events.
  • Create assignments and set up, linens, décor, food, furniture, and run all internal events.
  • Troubleshoot any issue that may arise.
  • Ensure a smooth event.
  • Maintain cleanliness of restrooms throughout the event.
  • Assist in putting up and taking down sides to the tent (if necessary).
  • Float unobtrusively about an event allowing yourself to be available should your services be needed.
  • Report any damage to HMM property.
  • Stay until the event is complete and assist in closing and securing HMM.
  • Backup to the Special Events Coordinator for venue tours and venue management day of external events.
  • Physical ability to move and lift furniture up to 20 lbs.

Position to start January 1, 2023. Hourly rate of $18-$20. Position will be open until filled.

List of internal events (20-30 per year):
Bi-annual fundraisers in March and September, opening day in late April, Fall Family fun day in October, 4th of July Bristol Parade, bi-annual volunteer appreciation lunches, membership appreciation dinner in December, monthly Lectures, eight-week-long summer concert series, Regatta in August, and others to be determined throughout the year.
