The Living Boat Show reception is a chance to join fellow classic yacht enthusiasts walking the docks and checking out the gorgeous yachts on display. Admission is free for race participants. The public is welcome to attend. Admission will be $20 for non-competitors and includes waterfront access and one free drink. Tickets will be for sale at the door. Preregister or RSVP below.
This year, the Living Boat Show will feature live music by Hollow Turtle. Sculpted from the coasts of New England, Hollow Turtle is a bluegrass, folk, americana quartet based out of Warren RI. Band Members include Alfie Purcell (Guitar), James Cappelletti (Banjo), Joseph Cappelletti (Bass) and Nick Preite (Mandolin). Starting in 2012 with the goal of bringing traditional Bluegrass to the Rhode Island area, the band has since evolved into a group that pulls influence from the traditional styles, while incorporating a unique spin of their own. Hollow Turtle bucks the trends of folk rock moving into the world of saccharine, overly commercial pop ballads. Old-school style brings new-world grief to light in their careening, tightly wound vocal harmonies. Relentless strumming and plucking from the string section lifts the harrowed singing to great heights.
