Greg Piccolo
Greg Piccolo is a multi-talented musician who has made a name for himself with his unique blend of blues, jazz, and roots music. Equally skilled on tenor saxophone, guitar, and vocals, Greg’s performances are characterized by his soulful playing and powerful vocals. He is joined on stage by the talented organ and piano player Shinichi Otsu, who adds depth and texture to the trio’s sound with his expertly crafted keyboard work. Together with percussionist Steve Langone, they create a pared-down yet dynamic musical setting that is both intimate and energetic. Greg Piccolo’s musical journey began in the late 1960s, when he co-founded the renowned Rhode Island-based blues band, Roomful of Blues. After a decade of touring and recording with the group, Greg embarked on a successful solo career that has seen him perform with some of the biggest names in the business. He has released several acclaimed albums, including the 2016 release, “Out of the Blue,” which showcases his dynamic range as a musician and songwriter. In addition to his musical career, Greg is also an accomplished educator and author. He has written several instructional books and videos on saxophone and guitar playing, and is passionate about passing on his knowledge and experience to the next generation of musicians. With a career spanning over five decades, Greg Piccolo continues to inspire audiences with his soulful playing and heartfelt performances.
