Steam Launch Blog #20

A production line and steamers for lunch!

The molds are in, and all have been faired with batten and long board sanding.

Things were going so well that we even gave Steve a day off from steam system design to help Keith1 with steam bending the first ribs and clamping them to the boat.

Soon we had a production line, with some oak in the steam box (with steamers for lunch) while team quickly attached steamed ribs before they dried out.

The Museum's Education Director, Kirk, came over to check on our high school intern and was quickly drafted as intern-assistant while Bill and I supervise.

There's never enough clamps! So S.S. Porcupine starts to emerge as we move clamps from drying ribs to current need.
