The America’s Cup Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony
Each year, the America’s Cup Hall of Fame celebrates the accomplishments of outstanding sailors and innovators by inducting them into the Hall of Fame at extraordinary ceremonies held around the world. These are truly notable black-tie events, drawing the best and brightest of the sport as the Hall of Fame honors individuals who have made outstanding contributions to yachting’s most distinguished competition. All past and current syndicates are invited, as are all past inductees, celebrating the Cup’s global reach. Additional support for this event in the form of supporting sponsorship, commemorative program pages, table sponsorship, and other custom packages.
Annual Herreshoff Classic Regatta
At this annual event, classic and Herreshoff boat owners gather for a weekend of challenging races against men and women of all ages. It regularly draws over 1,000 participants, and includes the Bristol to Newport Race for the prestigious Bill Swan Memorial Trophy, the Livingston’s Wind Hill Trophy race for 12 ½ footers around Prudence Island, and a traditional New England Clambake on the waterfront. The Museum is looking for event sponsors with visibility on all notices and mailings, at the event, and during the prize ceremony. Sponsor participation is also featured on the Herreshoff Marine Museum website. In addition, an event naming opportunity is available.
Herreshoff Lecture Series
Each year starting in late summer, The Herreshoff Marine Museum & America’s Cup Hall of Fame presents a series of expert lectures held in the Hall of Boats, with an average of 100 people per lecture. Expert authors speak on a range of interesting historical and current topics. Previous presentations have featured both traditional sailing craft and the Herreshoff-built NC-4, the first plane to cross the Atlantic, as well as information on the Herreshoff Manufacturing Co.'s relationship with the US Navy. The Herreshoff Marine Museum & America’s Cup Hall of Fame is actively seeking a sponsor to underwrite the lecture series for 2010-11 season. This series is currently sponsored by Points East Magazine and Cisco Brewers and Triple Eight Distillery.
Classic Yacht Symposium on Design & Restoration
The Herreshoff Marine Museum & America’s Cup Hall of Fame will be holding its fifth Classic Yacht Symposium (CYS) in the Spring of 2012. This event is held every other year, to offset the very fine symposium Chesapeake Sailing Yacht Symposium. The Museum actively seeks sponsors for the event and advertising for the Proceedings. This assemblage of papers and discussions presented during the symposium as well as noteworthy papers not presented is distributed to the hundreds of builders, designers, owners and enthusiasts who attend the symposium. It is also sold through the Herreshoff Marine Museum.
